(More customer reviews)This CD R/RW drive sounds better than the Samsung player that came with my HP Pavilion 793. Clearer, crisper. Installing was a snap. Pulled the old one, changed jumpers on the new one to match the old one, installed the new one. That was it. I did not use the software that came with it, nor did I install a new driver. Using MusicMatch 8.2 for playing, ripping music and burning CDs.
I previously replaced the original equipment DVD burner in this computer with a Memorex drive (DVD+/-RW True8XI) and I love that, too.
Note - Both still great 15 months later.
