The line-in recording is great, just plug in a mic (or use the built in one) to record speeches/music. Also, you can plug an electric guitar into into it and record. It records from it's built in radio too. The music/video format selection is great, you can use .ape, .vorbis, .flac, and .aac. You don't even have to convert iTunes music or any video you want to drag into it, because it supports xvid, avi, and wmv among others.
