(More customer reviews)I bought the Pioneer DVR-560H HDD-DVD recorder as an eventual replacement of my Pioneer DVR-520H (which still works fine, but it is an older model, and does not play DivX files). I love the capabilities of the DVR-560H. Besides playing regular DVDs, it has a USB input to import DivX files from a flash drive - very convenient (even though it does it slowly). It can import mp3 files, and operate as a music jukebox. It also has a FireWire input for a camcorder. Fortunately, the cable service I have is not digital, so I am able to use the DVR-560H's built-in tuner to record shows. The hard drive has lots more room than my 520H. Note that this recorder is multi-system, so I had to buy an adapter for USA-style RF in, and a power cord (both just a few bucks from Radio Shack). Even though it will play PAL DVDs, the output will also be in PAL, so a converter of some sort would be needed to watch PAL discs on an NTSC TV. The only complaint I have (and the only reason I gave it four instead of five stars) is with the remote. The Forward and Reverse Scan buttons are now incorporated with the Step/Slow buttons rather than being separate, as on the 520H's remote. It makes editing recorded shows a bit awkward. The playback buttons are also smaller than they used to be, making them more challenging for me to use. Other than that, I am very pleased with the 560H, and it is one of the best purchases I have made!
