The Music Hall MMF 2.1 is an entry-level, belt-drive, audiophile turntable and is a good choice for those wanting to move up into audiophile equipment without breaking the bank. Completely manual, there's no auto-return when the record is finished, though there is a cue lever and a simple on/off switch. Without the bells and whistles of lower priced (and lower quality) turntables you're getting quality materials and craftsmanship, i.e. a good tonearm, body and motor and beefy connector cable with gold plugs. Belt drive allows isolation of the motor from the rest of the turntable. The red, high-gloss finish is beautiful.
The turntable arrived with the cartridge already installed and aligned (a check with the supplied alignment guide confirmed the stylus alignment was right on) and setup was a simple matter of attaching the belt to the platter. I would've given the MMF 2.1 five stars if it came with a 12" platter (it's 11.8") and the anti-skating didn't mess with the cuing. This table, combined with my NAD AV-716 receiver, has brought new life to my LP collection as I've heard things I never heard before.
