(More customer reviews)i've not had time to really delve into all the features, or even use it for the purpose for which i bought it (audio for film), however what i have played with sounds fantastic. for someone like me,(pro) i don't find it too complicated to get around and it's fairly intuitive. with that said, if you're new to audio of don't need bells and whistles, i'd look into a 'lesser version'. if you know what you're doing and want an exceptionally good sounding and flexible recorder, this is your unit. i have found it to be very handy just to have lying around to grab for a quick "idea" catcher for songwriting.
it is (or at least seems to be ) a sturdy unit, solid feeling, not flimsy. but buy a better carrying case and an extra sd card for more storage.
my only beef if not with the recorder itself, but with the cubase le software that was bundled with it. NOT intuitive, NOT easy to set up, NOT as easy to use as they would have you believe, but the customer service from steinberg was pretty prompt and friendly (but still was unable to fix my problem).
