(More customer reviews)After owning this product for six weeks I couldn't be happier, it has performed perfectly and was easy to set up and not hard to learn how to use. Keep in mind that since I've owned the unit such a short time I can't vouch for its durability but if it's anything like an older Magnavox DVD player I own, it should be good. The manual is written well enough that even a novice should be able to have this unit up and running in a short time.
There is a learning curve if you've never owned a product like this before but it's not very steep. My advice is start out with some DVD+RW's and make a few short test recordings and play with the various functions until you get the hang of the many settings. Don't overlook the fact that DVDs other than DVD+RW's need to be finalized before they'll play on other DVD players. If you run into problems the manual will probably be enough to help you out. I can't rate Magnavox's customer support because I've not needed it yet. This unit will also play standard DVDs as well as those it creates.
Mine was purchased at Sams Club for about $89 and as of February 2007 they and Walmart still have many in stock. Shop around for the best price.
