(More customer reviews)I've had this turntable for 2 years now and am very pleased with it. I bought it to replace my old top of the line 25 year old direct drive Dual when I also replaced my receiver & speakers. I had planned on using the Dual but the tonearm had crapped out. I didn't want to spend the big bucks needed for a high end turntable and I didn't want a cheap $100 one either. At first, I was a little disappointed in the light platter and the fact that you can't make any adjustments on the tonearm but my old albums that are in good shape and the new albums I've bought sound just fine. (Actually, I was pleased as punch about how good the first new album I bought - Jack Johnson's second album - sounded). It sits in my entertainment center right next to a speaker and there is no feedback even at rather LOUD volumes. Fact is, I find myself listening to my vinyl a lot more now than I would have thought 2 years ago. If you want a high end audiophile turntable, this ain't it. If you want a decent automatic to replace your old worn out turntable that is not going to cost a small fortune and is not truely a cheap $100 piece of junk, I think the TD 158 fits the bill.
Finally, I understand that some audiophiles would consider this turntable a "piece of junk" and from their perspective they might have a point. However, everything is relative and as it turns out, it was exactly what I was looking for.
