(More customer reviews)I have had this product for about six months now. I purchased it originally to mount my iPhone 3G to my wheelchair. This product's versatility allowed me a wide array of places I could mount it to secure my phone in a usable position. But I was somewhat limited by the weak strength of the clip. As a result, I had to also secure the flexible shaft with a strap to keep my phone from moving around too much. For me this was a minor detail, considering mounting to a metal tube is a difficult thing to do with a spring-loaded clip alone. The clip design is such that it is very good at clipping to flat surfaces due to the use of hinges and rubber pads, but not so much so for curved surfaces.
My main complaint is their use of plastic for the clip. I thought I was paying the extra money to upgrade from a cheap plastic mount to something more durable, which unfortunately was not the case. It was not long before part of the spring-loaded hinge was broken irreparably, whereas metal construction would have been more appropriate for such a vulnerable area (hinge between the two halves of the clip and containing the spring).
Regardless, this product will serve most people well for occasional and even moderate use, but may not hold up too well to prolonged everyday use.
