(More customer reviews)I bought this turntable a few weeks back. I was looking forward to using it. It is so pretty & shiny in the picture, the one and only picture that conceals the mini plastic turntable, the picture that conceals the lack of anti-skate adjustment and the picture that conceals the loose chunk of metal they refer to as a counter weight simply hanging loosely on a screw pressed into the rear of the tubular tone arm. And no calibration marks to set the tracking force.
Then the shock sets in when the Vinylwriter Pro turntable has no recommended tracking weight, the manual simply says and I quote: Adjust the tone arm balance if the cartridge (needle skates (slides) on your album. Like that will ever happen to one of my cherished vinyl albums. The manual does not mention a replacement stylus. And the cartridge has no apparent identifying marks. The dust cover is a flimsy piece of vacuum formed clear plastic sheet. This turntable is not a Pro anything, it is truly inadequate for any serious listening or USB recording. I returned it to where it was purchased.
