Have not done any sort of full test. But immediate delivery, and HP 530 old laptop on windows Vista basic, through my USB HUB - it was recognized instantly, installed shockingly fast, and my impatient need to just "BURN SOMETHING" IT WORKED and made a disk that was read back by my laptops other non DVDR drive.
This is just a 30minute off the cuff review. But as a basic drive, it is worth it's price for that alone. Have not done a DVD writing test - data and CD just fine.will update
oh - lightweight, but not at all flimsy. Also, came in sealed genuine looking MEMOREX RETAIL TYPE OF PACKAGING - YOU COULD SEE THIS ON A SHELF AT ANY MAJOR CHAIN ELECTRONIC STORE - AND PICK IT ON THE NICE SOLID AND RELIABLE BOX AND ARTWORK.
